One thing that locals will tell you about Jacksonville is it
that it isn’t just “Jacksonville.”
The name has become almost synonymous with the moniker “First
Coast” and is as much of its own city as an all-encompassing metropolitan area
comprised of several beach towns and cities. And it’s for that reason that
Jacksonville offers an unrivaled diversity of experience in Floridian cities –
one that makes it as compelling a place to live as the Orlando and Kissimmee
areas, according to the recent ATTOM Data Solutions' Q2 2018 Pre-Mover Housing
Index.
The report, which looks at 36 metropolitan statistical areas
of at least 500,000 single-family homes and condominiums, utilized ‘Pre-Mover
Housing Index’ numbers for its data, which found that both Orlando/Kissimmee
and Jacksonville, Fla. scored indexes of 136 each; an index above 100 is above
the national average and indicates an above-average ratio of homes likely to be
sold within the next three months, according to the Florida Association of
Realtors.
That translates to a hot market for homebuyers and growth
for the city and its surrounding areas – and the areas that makeup the First
Coast experience, from the waters of Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and
Jacksonville Beach, to the booming shopping meccas of The Avenues and the St.
John’s Town Center and the historic Riverside, are worth learning more about.
